Inner ear surgery

This past November while diving off a live aboard in the Bahamas I injured the round window in the inner ear resulting in an extreme case of vertigo. I was taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Miami; two days later I had surgery to repair the problem.

I am looking for information concerning other divers who have experienced this injury and have continued to dive. What have been there experiences.

My dad blew out his eardrums when his power-head went off on a limestone ledge right next to his head at about 180 feet
he made it back and had his eardrums fixed surgically
after about 3 years of no diving we did a few dives in the keys and he was ine until he experience his rigth ear leaking on the uss duane

we thought that was the end but we recently bought a Oceanic Ear Pro mask which covers your ears and alows for equalization.
so far it works well (with the exeption of it being very high volume)

I highly sugest trying it out, he bought 2 of 'em on ebay for 160 bucks
