I was reluctant to shell out more $$$ for yet another backplate (I already have 3 stainless steel and 2 aluminum) but lately I've been having problems with my shoulder and would often struggle to get in/out of my backplate. Technically it was a small issue, but they all add up especially when predominantly shore diving. I followed Infinity's release and general positive acceptance and decided to give it a try. My initial impressions are that it is a well engineered device that works exactly as described. I use a Fusion drysuit and often felt that stiff webbing could be a problem for its outer layer and zipper. The padding seems to alleviate this worry and it is more comfortable above water so that's a bonus. I think Halcyon has a winner here and I really hope that it becomes readily available in rental gear.

It was the 'shimmying' that killed my shoulders. I'd usually get stuck on my drysuit valve if anyone was watching. Anyway I have no regrets with this purchase!
