Hello, I'm going to be in Indonesia in early/ mid-march and looking for places to go scuba diving at that time of the year.. good visibility, not all day rain, etc

I've already done Raja, Nusa Penida, Gili Islands, Amed/Tulamben and Candidasa areas and would like to go somewhere else. However, the time of year may be a consideration... I thought Alor but that sounds like the wrong time of year.

Would love to get any other ideas from folks. Otherwise my thought is to go try Sipidan/Mabul in Malaysia.

Thanks!

It's also the wrong time of year for all areas of Bali. Mabul, Malaysia weather should be okay.

I loved my Sipadan trip. A bit less-so for Derawan... but I think i hit the season wrong. I think May is best maybe. March maybe good. You didnt mention "not Lembeh" so I would say 100% Lembeh... unless you hate muck, in which case I'd say Bunaken. Or both which is what I usually do. 1wk each.

Bali is fine that time of year.

But for something new consider doing a Bangka/Lembeh trip. Bangka is awesome. If you are into muck/macro, Lembeh is world class.

For Mid-march I would say Manado area usually the end of raining season. I think technically they say the "season" for that area is April-November.

Also I don't think mid-march would be that bad for Komodo either (might be a little windy/some rain days still but who cares your underwater) Maybe message some of the dive centers and ask them about the weather mid-march

If your looking for something off the beaten path maybe check out Atauro Island (actually in ET). I personally have not been but its very very very high up on my next place to visit list. I have a friend that went and really enjoyed it. Only thing she said that was a negative was its fairly expensive compared to typical Indonesian dive pricing.
