Batfish

Those spadefish in the gulf - really look different than the atlantic spadefish we have here.
 
Hhmmmm - sounds like there are several different fish called a batfish. Over here in SE asia this be a batfish:

Yes, but they're talking Florida. I see these fish frequently out of Panama City. Here, that's a batfish.

Actually, the other batfish is showing up in SE FL as well. Its unclear if the fish was brought unintentionally through ballast water or aquarium release, ect. Definately not an endemic fish, but they're being spotted like it or not :wink:

Thats the problem with common names.
 
I knew which batfish he was talking about. The one that we call a batfish could never be confused with a spadefish :D.
