I've lost a bunch of weight and my jacket BC is way too big so I'm in the market for a BC
I'm not opposed to a BP/W setup. what should I expect to pay? everywhere I go you have to buy all the pieces separate and I don't know what all I need.
I've searched the forum and there's tons of info but maybe someone can answer these questions:

1. what should I expect to pay for a BP/W setup?
2. is there somewhere that sells the complete package? so I don't have to go here and there piecing it together?

Sure! The next time you're in Boynton shoot across the street to Pirate's. They sell Halcyon gear, and offer complete and assembled packages. I think a singles rig retails for $695.00 or so. I don't know how much Halcyon lets them change the pricing, and I don't want to speak for them, but I'm sure they will be competitive.
Shoot me a PM before you come down if you want to dive one of mine before you commit.

Check out Dive Rite Express.

1. depending on where you go, i think prices can vary from $400-$600+. I spent around $400 for my setup, but pieced mine together.

2. there are several places you can get complete kits: just off the top of my head (and in no particular order): www.deepseasupply, www.oxycheq.com, Golem Gear, Inc., Dive Rite Express, Discount Scuba Gear - Scuba Equipment Online - Discount Scuba Equipment, TECHDIVINGLIMITED.COM, Scuba Gear and Scuba Diving Equipment dive gear (they carry both dive rite and oxycheq and can put a nice package together for you), and Buy scuba gear, scuba diving and snorkeling equipment, and everything underwater from LeisurePro.com (you'll have to select the individual components, but they carry dive rite and oms). also, i would speak with your LDS, some may not carry any technical gear, but some shops will and can put together a nice package for you.

good luck.

none of my LDS' sell bp/w gear
kev I might take you up on that. I think I'm coming down to boynton for a reef cleanup the weekend after next

but $695.00 is hella expensive...
the 4-6 hundred vel is talking about is a bit closer to my budget

Complete singles rig with shipping for about 500 USD. You can contact Tobin (cool_hardware52) on this board or via contact info on the link above.

Couple of pics of my setup, DSS LCD30 wing, hog harness:

Highly recommended.

I just checked out Dive Rite Express (Dive Rite Express).

A complete rig, without STA, came to $550. Now that's with an aluminum backplate as opposed to steel.

so if I don't want to wear a weight belt (and I don't) I need to buy weight pockets I guess.
this is starting to look a lot more expensive than I thought. I think maybe a zeagle brigade might be the better option for me

DiveSports.com has some packages.
