If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle. If the horse has one front leg in the air the person died as a result of wounds received in battle. If the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.

If the rear leg of the horse is raised then it's probably a dog.

I've seen an elbow licker on one of those stupid human tricks segments of the Tonight Show. And since the golf, Coke, and rule-of-thumb "facts" are well know hoaxes it is probably safe to assume most of the others are also straight out of the "urban legend archive."
