Hello, I was using DiveLogDT to manually log my dives. Recently I got my Galileo G2 and I wanted to move to ScubaPro LogTRAK. I saw that DiveLog exports only DL7 files (.zxu), while I did not see any way for LogTRAK could import it.

Have anyone managed to migrate from DiveLogDT to LogTRAK?

DiveLog DT is fantastic software and I (along with several other G2 owners) are working with the developers to quickly add support for the G2. The first step will be updating DiveLog so that dives which have been downloaded using LogTrak may then be properly imported into Divelog. This obviously is not ideal, but should hopefully be ready in the next few weeks. The developers have committed to then working toward full download support directly through the DiveLog program. My best advice for now, assuming you like DiveLog DT and would prefer to continue using it, is to be patient a few weeks and see if a patch/beta becomes available. If you'd be interested in providing the logbook files to assist in testing, please PM me and I can provide instructions on what files to send.

As someone who as bit of experience with LogTrak, frankly, it's terrible software. Very poorly supported and thus far has been VERY buggy with the G2 (on a Mac at least). I've noted the following behaviours:
  • When attempting to add my personal information to the G2 with LogTrak, the program resets any warnings that have been set.
  • The current version of LogTrak for Mac does not support any generic or built in bluetooth, but instead requires a special adapter which must be purchased separately.
  • LogTrak "misreads" information downloaded from the G2. For example, the software version is improperly reported, various warnings are improperly reported, etc.
  • While not specifically attributable to LogTrak, attempting to upload .JPEG photos to the G2 results in a forced reboot of the dive computer.
As far as specifically importing other logbooks into LogTrak, there is no easy way to do this that I'm aware of.

Thanks for the answer CZS. Actually I'm using the DiveLog for some years now and I was considering waiting for G2 support. However my thinking was that as G2 is Scubapro's product, the same as LogTrek, the compatibility should be much higher than any 3rd party software.

However, if there will be no way to import my history into LogTrek, I'm not going to re-type it ;-) Waiting for G2 support in DiveLog is also an option. I understand that I should log my dives in in LogTrek for now and then import them to DiveLog. Direct interface to G2 will be available later, right?

For now, that would be the best way, correct. I'll reply to your PM with additional information on what files to send. Thanks for contributing!

Is there anyway to import SmartTrak divelogs into DivelogDT? I've migrated from a Galileo Luna (using SmartTrak) to a G2 (ostensibly to use LogTrak) but can't get the SmartTrak log to import into LogTrak, which is ridiculous considering it's the same company! So, maybe I should forget Scubapro s/w, and move to DiveLogDT. DiveLogDT website now shows support for G2 - true? any import mechanism from SmartTrak? Thank you!!

DivelogDT is MUCH better software than anything Scubapro provides and is my preferred logging software. I've been working with the developers of DiveLogDT to provide support for the G2, but thus far have not received a beta to play with. If the website says they support the G2, that's certainly news to me. Could you post a link to where they're saying it's supported?

My humble apologies.....I think I originally must have misread "Aladdin 2G" as "G2". There is no published G2 reference that I can find. Would love to know when you hear of G2 support, though.

As others have mentioned, Scubapro does a terrible job with their software. I would not recommend going back to their product, if you are currently using dive software with good(any) support. My scenario is a little different than yours, but I had several hundred dives in Datatrak, that I wanted to use on a Mac. SP didn't have Mac software for a long time, and when they finally did, there was no way to convert the Datatrak dives into the Mac version. Long story short is that I got the Datatrak dives converted and now I'm using Mac-Dive, and Shearwater computers. The support is fantastic from both. I love my Scubapro regulators, wetsuit, Jet Fins, wing, my Tec 2G and all the other stuff, but their dive log software support sucks.
