80-90 ft vis, no surge, current carried me out, then reversed and carried me back. Very flat. Lots of giant sheephead, rays, schools of soupfin shark, barracuda. dolphins play with you out to the pinnacles. No waves on entry/exit, like a swimming pool. Lifeguards carry your stuff back to the car. Only downside is the $2 parking.

Shhh - don't let the secret get out. There'll be no keeping people from the post-dive sauna and rub down by the Desani machine.

I think they do. paisley just told me about it today.

They don't hook you up with a buddy, because there is no "they". People just meet at the dive site. Buddying up occurs as a natural results of a group of divers going in the water together. So best get, you get a buddy, and worst case, you end up with a threesome.

4 of us showed up today. 2 came as buddys. Myself and another came as "singles", and buddied up together, and it worked out fine. We entered the water together, and dropped down in different spots.

This is posted on the site.

"The purpose of the Sand Eaters is to make a beach dive somewhere
in Southern California every Sunday Morning. We're only looking for
positive individuals who want to dive. You need to have some experience in the water and be comfortable and confident diving. While few if any of the dive sites would truly be considered for "advanced" divers, there are no responsible people looking out for your safety. You are on your own and responsible for yourself.

Beach diving is very affordable but tends to offer more challenges from lugging your gear from the car to the water, entering and exiting surf, making long surface swims and dealing with current and navigation. We do notwant you to go out and place yourself in situations you are not suited for. If you feel more comfortable under the watchful eye of a divemaster or instructor, Sand Eaters may not be for you.

The social aspect that most other dive clubs take on with meetings, elected officers, door prizes and other activities are definitely not a part of the Sand Eaters. In fact, the term "club" doesn't fit the Sand Eaters. We're a "scheduling group" where we select a site, notify everyone via e-mail and then show up and make a dive. Our goal is to have weekly dive information reach you no later than Friday morning and get a monthly schedule to you by the beginning of the month.

Please take note: CONDITIONS CHANGE!
There will be Sundays where we show up to the scheduled location and
conditions simply aren't conducive to diving. In the times that has
happened, we typically wait around 20 minutes past the meeting time, and then decide among ourselves if we want to go try somewhere else or call it a day."

Terry, instead of yelling, it would have been more effective to tell me to change my .jpg to .sized.jpg (I didn't know about the .sized.jpg until I just saw your pile perch post).

I just edited my post to resize the pics.
