Lake Travis is about 10 minutes from my house, and i have heard there is some pretty good diving there. i talked my dad into trying it out too im checking into the local shops and talking to pple, thanks so much for everyones help!

I am in the same boat as you, wanting to get started diving. there is a place near huntsville TX called Blue Lagoon Scuba I am looking into going here. Have you heard anything about it? I am currently in Houston, TX. average price for a cert is ~250.00 + some gear at the local dive shops, and there are alot being so close to the gulf and all... Can anyone recommend a good shop in my area to check into?

Lake Travis is about 10 minutes away from my house and i have heard that it has some great diving spots. I got my dad interested in diving too now, so he and i are going to go together now thanks so much everyone that has helped me, you have cemented my descision to learn to scuba dive!

I'm thinking 250 is a good price for cert......Unfortunately, I don't live in Houston.........anymore-----Graduated & left out of there, moved back to God's country in '76(lol).....
