Anyone have any feedback on using the Ikelite dome defuser on the DS125? Trying to stretch some more life out of ye olde strobes, but am a bit hesitant to plunk down the better part of $200 for a pair of defusers without hearing some user feedback.

Don't bother......The soft white reflector for the circular warm temperature flash tube of all Ikelite DS125 (long discontinued but thousands out there still) plus DS160 / 161 models are plenty wide without any diffuser.

Diffusers cut strobe power and make it more difficult to control/create shadows that give your images texture and depth. Outside of some very specific use cases, I recommend avoiding the use of diffusers.
