Yes, I am going for a week-long vacation!!!... from South Florida (diving haven!! no less) and would love to check out some dives.
Where would you go if you've seen some AMAAAZING dives in Florida, the Bahamas, and Caribbean but also want to experience what New England diving has to offer?

Depends on time of year and your willingness to "enjoy": cold water :-) Some of the best diving is in far eastern ME, but subject to 10-15 foot tidal differences that make diving possible only at slack....that plus water is colder up there. Further south in MA and RI you have wrecks and rocky reefs. CT diving (Long Island sound) is probably a little less interesting (and I'm from CT originally). Here in greater Boston, Cape Ann is one of the most popular areas, due to a good mix of decent shore diving, multiple diving charter boats, wrecks, interesting rock formations, etc. Expectations should be set properly = average vis is 15 feet, water temps even in summer are in the 40s-50s F at deeper depths at least from Boston north, colors are still bright but more subdued than Caribbean reefs, diving is "self-service" (carrying your own gear) and charters do not usually provide in water divemasters. That said, it is fun and enjoyable diving.

Cape Ann, Gloucester, Rockport after dark. Some of the most beautiful diving I've done in the NE area. The lights will show you colors that rival FL.

Cape Ann / Goucester. Amazing shore dives. Eastport Maine is also considered great but I have never been there. Id love to go sometime.

Have fun.
