Hello,

I received my transplate today and its a pain in the butt to put together. I think i have it all down now but i dont know what to refer to. Can you guys post some pics of how its supposed to be? When i put it on, the epaulets seem to be on the top of my shoulders, and the plate seems to ride low. The D-Rings seem to be in the correct position when i bend my arms, the meet with the d-rings.

Thanks!

Hey ted,

Yeah i have that video, downloaded actually for reference. Ive assembled it fine, but i just want to know how it *should* look when you put it on. The epaulets (the two folding things which say "Dive Rite" and "transplate") seem to ride up too high and the plate seems too low.

If the Transplate is anything like the Transpac with the metal bits connecting the shoulder and waist bands, you can pretty dramatically change how it rides by moving those plates further back and further forward.

(ScubaToys weaved their buckle different than I do).

Here's a couple of links that might help:

BAUE How To Size a Backplate

DIR-diver.com - Adjust the backplate

FYI- my epaulets ended up pretty high on the shoulders as well. I was more concerned with getting the webbing, d-rings etc into place as well as what was most important, in my opinion, getting my tanks to the right height so that I can get to my valves easily while not conking myself on the head all the time :dork2:

Put a Transplate together with a friend. Stare at the epaulets / shoulder pads, it makes a big difference which way they are installed. If you don't like the way it fits, reveres them, or throw them away. The instructions explain it, but it is hard to follow in reading them. Stare at them.

I do believe that there's a video or pictures on Dive Rite website as well. Also, Dive Rite is represented on this site. Ask them.

It took me forever to get mine together and then I did not install I think my back pad and had to take it apart again. I originally reversed the epaulets thinking it looked better and they hit me in the face so I set them right. Everything is 100% adjustable. You can raise or lower the BP anywhere on your back. When I get home tonight, I will try to take some pics.

Thank you all for your replies.

I thought it might help if i take some pictures. The DR site has a picture of an assembled transplate, but no diver in it. Mine looks the same without me in it.

I have assembled it for the smalles size. The waist plates where u attach the quick releases are towards the back near the backplate. Thats the furthest i can go before they meet the Velcro.

@cmburch: Id really appreciate if you'd post some pictures of you in your transplate.
