We decided not to dive due to a medical issue so we charted the Cabo Magic through Cabo Magic Sportfishing on January 21, 2008; all I can say is that it was a huge mistake!

The charter was not cheap but it had been recommended so we went for it. The boat seemed old and not very clean, the crew was lazy and really did not even try. The captain stayed on his cell phone the entire day and the first mate well, I really dont think he knew how to fish. My wife spotted Marlin close by and we had to urge them to try for them, my buddy and I hooked up finally on two marlin. But here is the kicker - they QUIT so our wives did not even get a chance to fish. My wife has been fishing since she was two and she really wanted to catch a Marlin but it was not going to happen on this charter.

Along with the crew being lazy they also drank our beer - my wife complained to the owners Tommy and Lori and they called her a liar and said she was a drunk - problem is though, she doesnt drink, she doesnt need to, when she is fishing she is so happy. The crew was drinking whether they like it or not.

To make a long story shorter - if you go to Cabo and want to fish, go to the Marina around 2p.m. and ask the people who are getting off the charters to see if they were happy. We did this a couple days later, wish we had done this first.
