a super camera yet, then give a disposable a try... I took one to 30m that had a max of 15m on the case, and it survived!

But, I do want to progress to a 'real' camera now, any suggestions for a good starter camera, mainly for wreck photography?

Canon a640 works for me - 10mp, about $200US (on ebay from the US) if you look hard enough, though pay the extra for the Ikelite housing. It means you can buy add on lenses later...
