Identify this skull?

It just seemed like it might be the skull, but I suppose it could be other stuff, since it really does lack an outside shell like most skulls seem to have. Perhaps it's a tail? I really have no clue. I mainly want to know if it could eat me, or inflict pain. Because I was thinking of spending a weekend camped out in the woods sometime....
 
I don't see a skull there. The scaly stuff is the hide (shell) of an armidillo. Bones probably the hip.
 
Pretty much, the more I look at pictures of skulls, the most stupid I feel for thinking this was a skull...

And now that the idea of a pelvic girdle was suggested, that seems to me very probably--it has oval hole things for joints, and also those little horns, they look kind of like human hip parts, Is uppose. I don't really know much about anatomy, but this does look like a pelvic girdle or something like that.
