So, the IDC is over. WOW, and the IE begins day after tomorrow on Sat morning and continues on Sun.

We've had a small class of three, and the schedule and routine have been pretty brutal. 8:30 kick off, continues to late 7:30 to 8:30, prep for the next day til 10 or 11.

Have day pool work, half day class, back in the pool and back to the classroom.

Instruction has been top notch and I feel ready for the IE on the Weekend.

We have a little break tomorrow and are making some fun ocean dives tomorrow.

Regards !

Good luck with the IE

Just remember what your CD & Staff Instructors taught you and you'll be fine

Importantly, RELAX.

Well the IE is finished and I took a 3 hour NAP............. I don't care what anybody says the IE is not easy.

We started with 10 and 7 made it.

I was beat after over two straight weeks of various courses and the IDC.

We finished and went to lunch, then I went back to the room and crashed for 3hrs of wonderful late afternoon napping.

Then an after IE Dinner and some stress free sleep all night........ PRICELESS.

First, Congrats! :balloons:

Second, with regards to the bolded part above -- :fear: My IDC was almost a year long.

I don't understand how people who cover all of that material, really nail the skills, and get plenty of experience working with students in 2 weeks. Do you sleep?!

Congrats, Good luck with the IE. You have done the hardest part, now relax and do what you were taught. My IDC/IE was also brutal mentally long days of class and presentations, very worthwhile in my opinion and teaching what I love too do is a reward in itself....
Don't forget too have fun as well...

King Patzer you're making assumptions about my diving history.

I was 1st certified by PADI in 1970, again that's 1970. So I've been diving for 40 years, so my skills are fairly "acceptable".

I've worked as a Dive Master, with real students, and know DSD and refreshers from the umpteen that I've done.

The IDC helped me with understanding the finer points, and as a DM you don't get to teach, if your shop is going by standards.

I got a 25 out of 25 on my skills set, 98 on standards, 100 on three of the others and 90 on the others two. Pass on Rescue, and 4.6 on Open water Presentations.

But thanks for the Congrats !

So, I'm not a 20 day wonder.

I'd be curious to hear which parts of the IE you --or the other IDC candidates you spoke with-- found difficult.

You misconstrue my intent, I meant no insult.

I honestly don't know how anyone does it all in 2 weeks. The schedule must be horrendous.
