Iberostar vrs. Occidental Grand

Thank you for bumping this thread up. I got quite an enjoyable read out of it!

We stayed at Iberostar and dived with Dressel Divers in 2010 and loved the place. The food was pretty good and the resort nice, but we loved diving with Dressel. Great service, free nitrox, very friendly staff, closest resort to the best reefs, and surface interval on land where you can get a good drink and snack/lunch. My kids liked the Star Friends and activities. I enjoyed the bars after diving was done for the day. The steak house was the best food of the week. I would return any time!

I am planning to go to Cozumel in October this year

I noticed this special deal at the Iberostar. $879 per person, including a week A-I and five two-tank boat dives.

Another great option is Blue Angels deal for (I think) $590 for a week including three meals and five two-tank dives. We've been to Iberostar a couple times and like it, but it's hard to beat the ocean front view and family-feel of their 22-room resort. Completely different than Iberostar. (Also, BA is within a 30 minute walk from downtown.)

Ron, where do you see such special? I look on travelocity to have my flight and hotel together. Is there a better website where you could have ALL included (flight, hotel, dives)????

The BA deal is separate from airfare. The Iberostar deal is through an agent, so they may be able to add air.
