Has anyone stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo (near Playa del Carmen)? This complex has the Paraiso Beach and Paraiso del Mar. This hotel is one of our candidates for a trip this summer. Has anyone had experiences to share about this resort?

I know that they offer rides to/from Playa del Carmen. Knowing that the earliest ferry to Cozumel is at 6am (can anyone confirm this info), does anyone know if the included hotel shuttle starts this early? Im trying to get all this info early on so I can really plan ahead with possible DOs.

thanks for the help

Jorge

Yes, we have stayed at that Iberostar last year, but before the Lindo opened. The Paraiso and Del Mar were great - one of the best all inclusives we have been to. In fact, we have already made reservations to stay at the Lindo this coming July with several other couples in our family. We thoroughly enjoy staying at Iberostars. We have stayed at the one in Cozumel and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic as well. I would highly recommend the resort. The amenities, food, pampering, beauty, partying, etc. is all we can ask for.

The onsite dive operation is Dressel Divers - average. You might decide to try an op in town. If you go over to Cozumel to dive for a day, I would highly recommend scheduling with Anita Divers with Rudolpho. Excellent day excursion with lunch provided about $70 a piece for 2 long tank dives and a great lunch and lounging off shore on his double platform boat. They have a website with info.

As far as shuttles from the resort, We've done that and it was fine, but found it almost more convenient due to time schedules just to grab a taxi that costs approximately $15 US. The ferry over to Cozumel is $8 US one way and begins early and ends late every 30 minutes throughout. The newer ones get there twice as fast. Don't miss the last ferry or you'll be stuck in Cozumel for the night! Try the websites for info.

If you would like any more specific info about the Iberostar, Playa del Carmen, etc, just give us a reply. We can't wait to go back to that resort complex. Those we have heard from that stayed at the Lindo said it was fantastic - better than the Paraiso and Del Mar which is a pretty impressive feat. You can use all three if you stay with the Lindo. You might want to hurry with your decision. We hear the reservations for this complex are going fast.

My wife and I will be staying at the Lindo Mar18-25 so I will be able to give you better feedback when I return. What I have discovered so far is that the shuttle runs Hourly starting at 9am (only every other hour in the afternoon) so not early enough for the Cozumel shuttle. I have checked w/Dressel divers at the Iberostar, Sea Life Divers and Yucatek in Playa del Carmen, so far it appears that all 3 do only 1 tank dive per boat trip which really makes it difficult for me to dive as much as I want to. I am also planning on a cenote dive which is 2 separate dives.
