I need better fish and invert critter ID books. Specificly I want books for New England marine fauna. I have Leland Pollock's "A Practical Guide to the Marine Animals of Northeastern North America" which is a decent dichotamus key but it's BORING (I like pictures) and I don't like bringing it to the dive site with me like I do with my little field guides. I am also looking for a guide that has pictures or very detailed descriptions of juvenile Atlantic and/or Carribean fish.
Can you beleive that the Audubon field guide doesn't even mention the northern sennet?!
I also have Fred Bavendam's "Beneath Cold Waters, The Marine Life of New England", and while I really enjoy the pictures it's just not broad enough for my purposes.
Thanks for all suggestions
