Welcome to SB. Not sure where in California you're located, but if you're in SoCal you might look at the monthly Wrinkles dives which are held on a rotating basis in LA, OC and SD counties and Catalina. Good place to meet other divers.
Hey there and welcome. You mentioned you're from California but not where in... there's forums covering both the Northern and Southern parts of the state and both have ongoing setup and casual dives which you may want to check out if you're looking to meet new buddies or just get some tips on the local dive spots (or share your own).
