You can compare a scooter to a 4 wheel drive truck (I drive a 4 wheel drive truck), and know from experience. If you get stuck or something goes wrong with your equipment, you just have to walk in in the case of a scooter swim, a lot farther.
 
I used to rock crawl and when you or your buddies truck broke you hauled their butt back out without walking! Just don't roll towing your buddy...
