and it's meant to be constructive but the pop up adds that flash in my face when I post or something are about as irritating as a thing gets. I suppose i'm sensitive to things like that but it's about like geting poked in the ribs over and over and I'll make it a point not to buy anything from some one who pays to have something like that flash in my face.

As the others have pointed out, you've likely got some sort of malware installed.
Check out adaware (from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/). It generally does a very good job of cleaning PCs that have lots of spyware.

After you're done with that, download a copy of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/. You won't regret it. Blocks popups and it doesn't have many of the security problems that lets those malware programs get installed behind your back.

...or, Mike. you might want to upgrade that Commodore 64.

I downloaded the free Microsoft spyware/adware software (Beta version) available at the Microsoft web sight to register users of their systems ... I been running it on my Windows XP Pro with no problems ... also I have downloaded the SP2 upgrade and really like it .....

I'v watched it closely and it appears the be that when my screen is transitioning (like when posting or whatever) the banner shows up first. If the viewing is at the bottom of the page then the banner shows up but disapears making it look like a popup or something.

Mike,
Occasionally I experience a similar effect with flash ads (ScubaToys uses flash versus a standard gif or jpg image) on this site and others. This generally shouldn't be a problem but if it is let me know and we can modify your account a bit.
