I think I had to post so many times before I could use my own avitar. So I have said many stupid things about stuff I don't know... but thought I knew.

A year ago, a new member had to have 50 posts to have any Avatar, which led to stupid postings, so that was dropped.

tsh, Why don't you say hi to all the new members. I see a lot of members doing it that way.
