I dont want to bother with one. What do you think.

On the rare occasions I dive without a computer I just figure anything shallower than 30 feet counts as a safety stop. i.e. Dive to 60 feet for,say,30 minutes. Come up to 29 feet and stay there all day if you want.

I'll buy that - for a diver with your experience. But that approach might (should) make a diver with the OP's experience rather nervous without a computer to back it up.

I have a couple of computer and they are nice to have but no necessary. I turn the alarms off on mine and I rarely use the ascent rate indicator.

I think the OP will be just fine with what she has.

there is ONE feature that most dive computer have but you can't find in tables .... ascent rate indicator and ascent alarm.
I think this feature is worth enough to justify the extra cost (few dollars?) of a budget dive computers vs. tables+timer+depth indicator

sure ... I could figure out my ascent rate with timer + pressure gauge + some mental calculation while being chilly cold in bad viz or being swept away by the current with no visual references.... but, why not use something more efficient?

You can pull 5' increments off most depth gauges, just count to ten as you ascend.

That said, my air computer was $20 and my nitrox computer was $70. I dove with gauges until I got the price I needed (took ~40 dives/6 months or so).

At this point probably not but at some point your air consumption will start to be longer then your bottom time then you will need one.

If you get a downloadable one preferably with air integration then you could see your progress in buoyancy control and air consumption usage.

You have a very good wreck down there the Yukon you will need a computer for that one if you want to extend your bottom time.
