that from North Carolina it's less expensive to go to Italy than to Bonaire. WTF !!!!!!!!!

For certain time frames anyhow.

I think some one pointed out awhile ago that it was cheaper to fly to Bonaire via Amsterdam... not sure if that is true..

You certainly can get a nonstop. I chose one set of randoms dates: $860 roundtrip on a TUI fly charter, $1,490 on KLM

I'd take Italy anyday over Bonaire :yeahbaby:

I just booked NYC Moscow- Finland NYC RT for $701.00.....

Its a shame. Just did a quick random search for NYC - BON picking a random week each month to the end of the year. Low of $700 to a high of $1600. The high was xmass week and the rates include 1 checked bag. Will be planning another dive trip for June and will be someplace other than Bon. For the week I am looking at air to CUR is $350 and about the same to GCM. Would love to return to Bon but its hard at the high airfares.

Other than pretty hardcore shore divers, who else vacations in BON? Not meant to be snarky, just wondering.

There a lot of visitors from Holland (the European part) that are there to do things other than dive. Since it is part of Holland now I feel the need to be clear. Lots of visitors are windsurfers and kite boarders. I see mountain bikers and other folks that may snorkel but don't appear to be diving. From the US it seems to be mostly divers or family members of divers.

The salt lake is perfect for windsurfing: enclosed, shallow, no chop to speak of, and plenty of wind 24/7.

It's not just about shore diving.. It's the whole vibe of Bonaire letting you do as you please... It's worth the airfare to me...

Jim....

Jim, you should give CUR a try. Similar vibe, half to 1/3 of the airfare
