I did a price and transport check with all UK dive shops that are referenced with PADI. Simply Scuba came out tops for price.

Many shops offered free transport, but when you look at their prices, that's the least that they could do.

The Vytec that I ordered from Simply Scuba was at £312 and £240 for the transmitter ($806 total). Some places were selling the two for £690! ($1008).

Had mine out on Saturday. What a great computer. The gas switching was easy and with the alarms turned on it would signal you to do your switch by beeping as wellas flashing the current mix. With the alarm turned off the current mix flashes at you. What a great idea. Easy to set up and easy to use. What else could you ask for.

TTFN:)

just got mine today still in the box. I have never dove with a computer before so im going to really lost. but i have heard a lot of good thinings about the vytec cant wait to get it wet this monday.

Got my first two dives on my Vytec on the weekend on a wreck called the Wexford. Just dove on air so I did not get to use all the gas switching functions, but real easy to read. Very easy to set up and real fun to play with!! Dove with a buddy who also got one new and after the second dive droped it overboard. He jumped in after it but with his drysuit on could not get down. We droped an anchor down and were able to find it in 85 feet of water. I had a pretty happy dive buddy!!!

Have you guys checked out

www.divingdirect.co.uk

I bought mine from them a bit cheaper than you guys have been talking about. Dont know if they ship to the states but it might be worth a try.

BTW it is the k9's testis!!! used it on the Nidelvin yesterday, switched mixes, never lost a signal from the transmitter. Totally awesome. I'm blown away by how good it is, its the little attention to detail that matters. such as not forgetting your mix if you dial it in two hours before the dive, switching to "time/date/surface interval" display 10mins after a dive. You get the picture.

How many of you have to set your computer just before you get in in case it defaults to 50% because it went to standby. That can be anoying when you submerge with your 27% mix for a dive to find your comp wont let you go down until you surface and re-set it (if you can coz your hands are wet).

ROTFLMAO to all of you who dont know the joy of a Vytec.

hi guys

Hearing only great things about this computer that's why i just purchased one for myself.
Should be here by the end of the week.
Can't wait to play with it.
Thanks for all the awesome advice guys...keep it coming.

Right on H20... you'll love it...

I've now used the Vytec for about 40 dives. So far it has performed flawlessly, except for one dive where for one reason or another, it lost the signal with the transmitter right before I jumped in the water, and would not transmit any gas info for that dive...

One other thing I've noticed is that the computer picks up the transmitter signal much more quickly if the computer is on when the air is turned on (as opposed to having the air on and then turning on the computer). In either scenario the transmitter and the computer eventually pick up the signal, but it's much faster and reliable when the computer is on first.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the computer.
