...and I just bought a Cobra to go with my stinger!

But I don't dive mixes (yet?)

Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there

The Vytec is not a mix computer.

OK. Somebody with one of these. Does it allow adjustment to only the oxygen,or also the nitrogen %, i.e., a trimix?

The verbage in the literaure on their website appears to be somewhat ambiguous to me. After a little more in depth consideration, it does appear it will alow for multiple (conveniently 3) Nitrox mixes in the same dive, but not a real trimix.

Clever marketing language, or what? Or jsut coincidence?

There is nothing in their literature to suggest it will do He. And, no, you can't play with the H2. You can download the manual from the Suunto website and see exactly how it works and what it will/will not do.

If you want trimix, you have 3, well, almost 3 choices. VR3, Oxycheq Explorer, or Nitek He (which is still vaporware AFAIK).

Did you mean N2 in your last post?

H2 would be hydrogen, and wouldn't expect any of us to be messing aournd with that!

It does not specifically (on the info page of the website, not the manual) indicate that it is NOT a trimix computer. My point is I wonder how many people read through that description and see the phrase '3 gas mixes', and mistake it for what it isn't.

I know we are all supposed to be up on our equipment, but there are a lot of people out there that are very susceptable to the Great Omnipresent Marketing Machine.

I own a Stinger , a Cobra and also a Suunto Regatta Sailing watch. Will be buying at least two more, one each for my wife & daughter. Mostly becasueof their ease of use. I think they make good instruments. They do what I wan them to, anyway.

MY ONE allows me to input O2 as a percentage and therby determine a Nitrox mix. You can't use it for a tri-mix.
