Greetings from the East End Grand Cayman....
For a week Ellen and I had been watching the track of hurricane Isaac as it wondered from the mid-Atlantic towards...well that was the big question 'toward what?' On Thursday we were thinking of changing our flight (US Air to Charlotte NC to GC) from Saturday to either Friday or Monday. Well, I watched the storm track and decided to keep our flight on Saturday (8/25) hoping for the best... the flight was totally uneventful (little longer than norm since route went further west and then up from the south so as to avoid leading edge of Isaac) and in fact the Charlotte to GC leg was smoother than most times we come down (which is every month now). Flights going thru Miami were a disaster with cancellations and long delays.

We were still expecting wind and rain when we landed. When we landed there was slight breeze and sun, but ominous clouds looking north. By the time we got to our place at Gun Bay (East End) this is what we saw standing from our place>>

And this morning this is same view>>>

So far we have had a bit of rain (while sun was out too) and the ocean on the south side of the island was nicely calm...but Ellen talked to friends who live on north side and they said rain, wind, and rough seas. Point is Isaac brushed the island and even on GC weather can be totally different from north to south sides.

Start diving tomorrow...

All is good :cool2:

I feel sorry for you. I for one am looking forward to a long day in my safe secure dry office in the morning. I hope you make it through your ordeal unscathed... :D
