HP50....is it that much better?

From what I can see the battery canister on the hp50 is made of plastic, which puts me off. Is the lx20 body completely made out of metal?
The heads are metal for heat sink capacity but the vast majority of larger battery packs are made out of plastic. Plastic doesn't dent...
 
What's causing the sticking?

Fine silt would get between the light head and the sliding ring, where there was a tiny ball bearing which would bind.

Turns out I wasn’t the only one with this issue: Dive Rite has since redesigned this. I haven’t had any problems with the redesigned switch. Still wonder why they didn’t use a piezo, but the new switch has been reliable enough that I don’t care anymore. :)

Still think the light is too floody, but it works reliably and is still a really good value if you can get it at a discount.
