HP Tanks - What's the point?

It's basic physics that the higher the pressure the smaller the tank for same amount of air. And the smaller the tank the less water it displaces and the less buoyant it is, which means less weight on land. Weight on land is one of the banes of scuba diving, so I would like even higher pressure tanks.
