I heard an opinion that DIN is the only option for HP tanks. At the same time HP tanks are for sale with a "Yoke Style" valve. Does it mean that mentioned opinion is obsolete or "Yoke Style" is not Yoke indeed? I'm confused here.
Let's say I have a regulator with Yoke 1st stage. Can I use it with HP steel tank or my options limited by LP and Al tanks?

A lot of it depends on the individual yoke. Newer ones would likely handle the pressure, old spindly ones not so much. The big issue in my mind is not how strong the yoke is, but the fact that O-rings are more likely to extrude and then cause a failure than a DIN.

If you check the connection on most, maybe not all, HP tanks the Yoke fitting is an insert that unscrews.

Mine are that way and I find that in order to get them filled at many locations I need to put the yoke insert in, then I take it out and use the DIN connection on my regs. On the other hand, I have also used a Yoke reg on them as well with no problems. But I do prefer the DIN for my own comfort.
