I've been camping at that beach at least twice a year w/ my family since I was about 5.

I've never thought to dive there (silly me), but my brother and I might want to check it out.

I imagine it could get tough trying to get out there because of all the rocks...

Its a nice dive. It all depends on where you enter at. If you go in at the far South end you do have rocks to contend with but its doable. There is then the little cove that is just on the other side of tower 2 i belive and you can enter there also. Then there is the far north end inside the park and that is a sandy entrance last time i dove there. There is alot to see out there. Depending on what part of it you go to it can get to 35ft. Viz can also be limited but when its good its one of my Fav dive spots minus the rocks....

yeah, there are a few accessible sandy coves around the main beach, but wouldn't it be a little cumbersome to drag all my gear over the rocks and dirt paths?

I'd probably be better of starting at the dog beach to the immediate north and just swimming over. Whaddaya think?

You could do that or Suit up at Camp or on PCH and walk the trails thats what we do.....
