Thanks everyone! Yes, diving season is over for us as 1) no dry suit, 2) no time now that the kids are in school and 3) no more money! Our crawl space is carpeted, dry and free of critters...just a very short 3' basement. Since the boys don't have regs I put their fins/mask etc in the bottom of a tub, then the BC with a little air in it and the wet suits laid lightly on top. I have a wheeled clothing rack that I used in the garage between dives to dry the gear. I think I will bring that inside and hang our (mine & hubby's) wet suits, BCs, & regs on the rack and have the other personal gear and extras in the large wheeled tub in the crawl space, too. I don't want it packed away too far because our dive club has "pool time" during the winter so we can avoid the need for scuba tune-ups.
Just because we are packing up and not getting wet doesn't mean we aren't thinking about diving...we are planning on taking the specialty courses that don't require dives (i.e. equipment maintenance, nitrox & the classroom/pool work for rescue diver) during the winter to get us closer to Master Diver.
To those of you who don't "store" your gear...have a safe & fun underwater winter!
