I just got one and am at work and left the instruction book at home. I was playing with it and can't turn it off. Is that normal that it stays on even tho it hasn't been underwater yet? Thanks!

Yes, that is normal. It will turn off by itself. Welcome to the board!

Sometimes if I forget to rinse it after a dive my vytec will stay on for days. Fortunately I don't usually go too many days between dives and I am on my second battery in 4 years.

If the Cobra is like the Stinger, I believe as long as the water sensor isn't wet
the computer is still on but in a lower power consumption mode.

You might want to read the instruction manual as I'm sure this is covered.

yeah welcome to scuba board. I'm sure your computer will be fine. Congrats on the new purchase, I bet you're gonna love it!

Keep an eye on your batteries and the casing. The battery ran out on mine while on holidays (last dive anyway). When I got home I checked it and found out the retaining ring broke and the battery section was flooded with salt water. I have since cleaned it and checked it out with a new battery. All is fine.

Sometimes after a dive, if I don't rinse it really well, it will stay on. If I stick it in a tub of fresh water for a while and rinse, it will then turn off.
