Question How to store a tank that needs to be emptied between uses?

Situation. My O2 tank for CC needs to be emptied between every use because of air travel (this can be up to 6 months in storage).

Question. Is it best to keep it empty in a plastic bag or filled with a little O2 and then emptied just before flying?

I would just buy an al80 or something and a whip and then just fill it to store.
 
best to store it full. Doesn't need to be oxygen, just oxygen clean gas. Ideal solution is fill to say 500, drain, fill to 500, store. 500 is a random number but somewhere in the 200-1000psi range is enough

when the valve is off the inside is filled with humid air, when you put gas in there, all of the moisture is still in the tank. By draining it back to near 0 you are removing that moisture, then putting more dry gas back in the bottle so it is less likely to have a moisture issue, especially important with steels.

Got it. Does tank orientation matter for the drain step or is sitting up right good enough?
