I'm interested in starting taking some shots of the various fishes in my local freshwater lakes.
The vis in these things are typically pretty bad -- 10' to 20' is the general order of the day, and there is a lot of particulate matter in the water column.
A strobe just tends to light up the particles and makes the photos pretty nearly worthless, but lacking a strobe the water is too dark to get a descent shot.
What are the tricks for taking a picture in these types of conditions?
