Hi.

I'm rigging my first BP/harness setup. I dive a neoprene drysuit. Does anyone have any tips on how to secure the corrugated inflator tube/hose to the harness so that it doesn't flop around or disappear behind my back? I don't use a pull dump valve on the top of the tube so I do need to be able to raise the tube to dump air when on the surface.

Thanks.

Yep - just like he said.

Tie a knot in a piece of bungee so that it makes a loop about the size of a D-ring. Snip excess and melt the ends.

When you thread the webbing and place a D-ring and keeper on the left shoulder, install one side of the keeper, the D-ring, and the bungee - then the other side of the keeper to keep it all in place. Slide the bungee around so that the knot is either hidden or to the side of the webbing.

Slide the corrogated hose of your wing through that and it'll work great.

We learned an even better way... don't wrap the bungee around the corrugated part, but just stick the inflator hose through, in between the two rubber bands. The corrugated hose rides outside the bungee. The hose stays tight to your body, but it can also slide up and down the bungee, if you need to dump or orally inflate.

Does it flop around a bit or do you make the bungee loop shorter to avoid that?

Since we are on the subject of that particular Bungee loop, I was wondering if any one has ever used a continuous loop of bungee (like a pony tail band) My Wife has these things called Scungee's (or something like that) and they are basically a piece bungee with no knot. It would avoid that annoying lump that the knot creates. I bugs me at least.

Just to clarify--slide only the inflator hose (not the corrugated tube) through the bungee? Also, what do you mean by "two rubber bands"--is this the bungee loop? I like this idea, but for the fact that I think the tube will flop around quite a bit. I wonder if it might not help to bungee the hose and tube together somewhat snugly up real high, at the top of the shoulder where they first begin to meet--then only bungee the hose further down a bit as you suggest--this might help better to control the tube while also making it more agile for dumping or orally inflating. Thanks!

I believe he means the rubber bands that are on the corrugated hose wich are usually used to hold the inflator hose against the coruugated hose.
