I am going to try my new "used" dive rite bc with back plate and a rec wing.

I find that the inflator hose is hard to find. I guess you are not suppose to secure it, but how do you make it easier to find. You are not suppose to bungee it to your chest ring, are you?

Most place a bungie through the keeper that holds the D-ring in place, and slide the hose through there.

The last thing you want to do is leave the inflator flapping in the breeze where you aren't able to find it when you need it, which it seems you've already found out.

You'll also find that normally the stock inflator hose is too long on those wings. Not as much a problem until you start carrying bottles, and then you'll see it gets in the way. Contrast that with the length of the hose on wings like the Halcyon's. The good news is you can buy shorter hoses for them.

I agree with Steve R on the fact that you can just run a piece of bungee through the D-ring keeper. . . just make sure whatever you use to secure it can stretch. . . I used thin surgical tubing for mine. . . I think you might have access to that :)

I just tied a piece of 1/8" bungie around the shoulder harness strap and ran the inflator hose through it. It will slide up the strap to allow me to vent but will also slide right back into place when I let it go.

I tried the BC today. We did an underwater drill, removing the BC... It was a pain in the butt to do. Them stiff harnesses just doesn't want to cooperate. Then the back plate came lose! I was under the impression that it was tightened with pliers by the previous owner. However, they were only finger tightened. Fortunately, we found the bolt and nut in the pool.

I've got them tightened with a large channel lock and a few drops of superglue. I don't think they'll come loose any more.

I do think that they are more trim than my jacket BC. I imagine that they will do even better if I didn't have 22 lbs of lead and a drysuit on.

Thanks, I did that today, but with a white bungee....

Here is a picture of what jhbryaniv is talking about on my Halcyon BC.

Mine is a pretty bright orange bungie but the very same way :)

On that bungie...how do you secure it to the retainer. My friend has a Halcyon, but it looks like it is a continuous bungie. I have some bungie lying around but not sure the best way to "tie" it to the retainer while looking clean.

It might be you just too short a hose for your size. I have a rather longer hose (be nice now) than normal and I like the flexibility it gives me to position my hands. To each their own.
