Being able to hover without moving and nailing down the back kick have been my biggest focus lately.

For me, to quite down my happy feet, I had to get my trim absolutely perfect. Once my trim was good I didn’t have to constantly twitch my feet to maintain trim. Simple moving my backplate up a slot - lowering my doubles - was enough to get my trim dialed in which got me to a point where I could hover without twitching.

Now that I have a quasi back kick I do it all the time. It has so many uses, doing face to face drills with a buddy if there is any current, keeping from drifting into the anchor line on ascent, as brakes when you want to stop your forward momentum. I now understand why everyone always made it out to be such an important kick.
