How to get to Tioman from Singapore

to get to tioman from singapore :
1. Take a cab from Rochor taxi station to Johor Baru. A shared cab will cost S$8.00 per head. Alternatively private charter will cost approx S$32.00
2. From Johor Baru take coach to Mersing which cost approx Ringgit 10.00.
alternatively take taxi . both shared or private charter available. taxis will take you directly to Mersing jetty where ferries will take you to Tioman
3. Ferries wil stop at several villages on tioman so make sure you get off where you want to. Fare is approx Ringgit 30.

I travel to tioman by road several times each year and so I know what 's involved.

Note that what people are calling "ferry" here is actually a speedboat, so when you buy your tickets, get a *speedboat* ticket. Costs about RM 35 each way. (I just went to Tioman last week, so the price is current.) The company I used is called Blue Water Express.

I always use the official tioman transport service (tiomantransport.com) to transfer my tourists from Singapore to Mersing ferry terminal or Tanjung Gemok ferry terminal to catch the ferry to Tioman Island.

They are very reliable, especially since they also coordinate your ferry tickets such that your land transport to sea transport schedule flows smoothly. Cost wise, their prices are also very value for money.
