First of all, have a good laugh at my expense.

I have always had an AI computer in my kit and have not used an analog SPG since my OW trials. I have since bought an SPG and HP hose as a backup in case my AI computer fails on a dive trip.

I have two lengths of HP hose. I have mounted the same OxyCheq SPG on both hoses and, when I open up the tank, the system leaks lots of air, rapidly, at the hose/SPG interface. There is no apparent O-ring on the SPG or on the female end of the HP hose. Do I need an O-ring? If not, what am I missing?

Thanks.

There's a thing called a poppet or something . . .

I had a picture of it, because it came with my SPG and I didn't know what it was. Let me look.

In the meantime - it is about 1/2" long, and 1/8" in diameter. Dead center is an affixed washer, maybe 1/4" in diameter. On each end is a tiny, 1/8" diameter O-ring. The purpose is to allow the spg to pivot.

Did you put something like that in between the spg and the hose?

You're likely missing the spindle spool.

It looks like:

and allows the SPG to spin on the HP hose. There are several different sizes so you need to get the correct one for your SPG. If your AI computer is not wireless, it have have something similar.

Ah, Gombessa has it! That's the pic, and the proper name.

Thanks, Jax and Gombessa,

Should it have come with my SPG, or should I have known to order one? :)

:idk: Mine came with my SPGs. Do you still have the boxes?

Typically comes with the SPG, but it's small and easy to lose in the box. Any good LDS should have a cubby full of them. Mine just gave me one of each size when I needed a replacement, but you're better off bringing in your SPG so they can see exactly which one to install. The typical 2/2.5" Termo Industria spgs should use the same spool.
