Since I'm new....

I called as many LDS's as I could, and asked them several questions.

#1- How long does your course take?

#2- How long have you been diving?

#3- How long have you been an instructor?

#4- How many students will you take in a class?

For the record, I ended up taking my class at a dive shop about 30 miles away from my house, when there was one less than 10 because I felt they had a superior program and I had confidence in the instructor. It was a 5 week program, with an optional 6th week in West Palm Beach after certification. I got plenty of one-on-one with the instructor, and there were many other assistant instructors throughout the course in the pool/open water sessions to help out and make me feel comfortable.

Sounds good.
