I have not had to call an attempted dive due to equalization problems....yet. I have had to call dives prior to making them due to colds or difficulty pressurizing my ears at home, but luckily I have not made it all the way to the beach and in the water before figuring out that I was going to have a problem.

I did, however, dive once when I was coming down with a cold. It was for my AOW class that I had already paid for. I noticed that I felt kind of crappy in the morning, but it was better by the afternoon when we started diving....I had no issues with the first or second dive (where we descended and ascended twice each time), but the third dive, I thought my head was going to simultaneously implode and explode. I will never dive with a cold or equalization issues again....that was miserable!

Once. I had to cancel a week-long trip to Cozumel last year because of ear problems. Since then I regularly use ear drops after every dive and the night of, and haven't had a problem since.

Ive never had to call ON a dive (although ive come close a handful of times) but i have just not gone diving knowing in advance id have issues clearing.
