Noob question, what kind of grease do you use, and can it be purchased someplace other that a dive shop?

Thanks

Both cameras that I bought came with grease. You could probably look up your brand on the internet or look in owners manual that came with your camera. I'm sure others will have better advise for you though.

Silicone grease. If you didn't get any with your UW case, go to your LDS. They should be able to sell you a small tube. You can also get it at some camera stores.

I am sure there is a home remedy out there but I always prefer to play it safe. If you go to any Ikelite dealer, they will have it. I choose Ikelite but I am certain any of the housing manufacturer's grease will work for any other....(ask just in case). Below is a B & H Photo Video link for Ikelite grease for $1.95....not expensive right?

when you see the little tube of ikelite grease you think that it won"t last long but you will be surprised how long it will last ,using the ikelite lube they recommend you use a very small amount as the grease is meant to help seat the two halves of the housing not to seal it as the pressure of the clamps do that.
