how much protection is a dive skin?

If I remember correctly, the majority of the UV rays are reflected at the water's surface and can't penetrate to do any harm.

Anyone ??????

I have gotten sunburned underwater it's why I now wear a du-rag while diving.
Of course this may only affect bald headed types.
