I guess it would be paid in Voucher Credit. How long do I have to use it...?

I have reservations to fly Lubbock to DFW to Cozumel on Sunday, August 19 @ 6am, and I see the flight is sold out. If I volunteered, and if they needed my seat - I might be able to still get to Cancun by 4pm. Besides the fact that they might not need to buy my seat...

1: The itinerary to CUN @ 4pm may not be available then and the best they could do would be getting me there by 7pm. If so, that would be a terribly long day of waiting for flights in both airports, then I'd have to shoot for a 9 or 10pm ferry, getting to my hotel pretty late for check-in and unpacking for a 8am boat.

2: Even if they could get me to CUN by 4pm, I'd still have 3 hours to kill in Lubbock as well as the usual 3 hours in DFW, I might get seats worse than I have now, and I'd be shooting for a 7 or 8pm ferry, into my hotel still too late for dinner or to get my pony filled.

Still, I might go for it if the voucher was significant and they might upgrade my seat to First?

My buddy was offered a $1200 Value voucher but that's because they needed a 4th seat for a family of 4 and no one was giving up their seat. They started at $200 :shocked2:

They are starting typically at $300 for domestic flights. If there are no takers, they bump it up to $400. Good for 1 year.
They also offer meal vouchers, but there are small ($15 or so) and not valid for alcohol.

My strategy is to pop up to the counter at the first offer and tell them if they offer $400 I am their man.
Since the other passengers see me up at the counter, they don't come up (my theory anyway).
The clerks don't really care one way or the other and tend to take me up on the offer.
