I sadly don’t dive as much as I used to or would like but do a fair amount. Also have kids getting to diving age who are very interested. That being said just sold a mk2. Still managed to acquire 2 perdix 2 still new for good deals and using just used a new teric is Cozumel. I like the peridx better , but for a recreational diver 2 perdix seems like overkill. That being said since I don’t dive as much , having the back up might be good. First world problem for sure, keep all 3 ?

If you don't like the Teric, sell it since it's worth quite a bit. If you don't want to wear 2 Perdixes (Perdixi?), then leave the second one in your bag. At worst you'll need to sit out a dive or two.

You can always get a Deep6 Excursion if you want to wear/carry a watch-sized backup with a similar algorithm to your Perdix.

Hey, how much would I need to throw in to trade you my Excursion for your Teric?

Edit - On second thought, I can't justify spending $500-$600 on upgrading a working DC. But maybe someone else can?

Thanks, appreciate it. If I sold one likely the Teric but trying to convince myself to keep them all:-)

Do you spend much time in your life with these types of dilemmi

I can’t imagine likening the Perdix more than the Teric, do you use AI? Anyway the solution is to use one perdix and the Teric and removing the battery from the other perdix and storing it securely in a closet until its service is needed.

No, I already had the teric, wanted to add a perdix but it was lost in shipping so the seller was going to issue a refund. In that time period I bought a different perdix and out of no where the original one showed up. So it wasn’t planned. Originally just wanted a peridx/teric, but have all 3 now.

Going to sell a perdix. Can cover my needs with a teric and perdix. And have one for my daughter this year

Whichever one you decide to use, take the time to study the tissue loading graph over the course of your trips. You can get a much better feel of how the algorithm is modeling tissue loading and unloading over the course of several dives and surface intervals.

How many is too many dive computers?

9 computers in this picture. Yep, that's too many.

Hi @Johnoly

I don't see your Pro Plus, still have it? :)

My family of 4 has 10 dive computers. Even when we are all dive, we only use, at most, 6 of these.

My wife and I recently went to Bonaire for 2 weeks, we had 5 of the computers with us. Part way through the trip, the high pressure hose on my wife's quick disconnect to her Oceanic Pro Plus 2 failed. That ruled out using the backup Pro Plus 2. I guess I could have gone out and bought a new high pressure hose and connected the computer directly, but I had other options. At first, she dived an Oceanic Geo 2 with my SPG. Even though the battery was replaced just before the trip, it showed low battery after just 2 dives. I could have gone out and bought another battery to try, but I had another option. My wife finished the trip diving my Oceanic VT3 with the SPG. I had a backup transmitter I had bought years earlier that my wife could have used with the VT3 but, despite a new battery, it failed to work. I finished the trip diving my AI Shearwater Teric.

The transmitter now works perfectly after a reset with the battery out, I didn't think of that in Bonaire. The Geo 2 seems to be working fine again after leaving the battery out and then replacing it with a new one.

If you have enough computers, you can deal with a series of unfortunate problems prior to going to rental gear :)
