Hey, don't forget about me! I am SO looking forward to this trip, I really REALLY need a few days away form it all. :)

Jimmie

Oops ... sorry Jimmie ... yep, for sure you're going too ... :11ztongue

I managed 55 last year of which 100% were sea dives. 21 of those were abroad in the med, the rest in the UK.

...but was shooting for 100! My first year of diving in these cold local waters (Michigan) and first year with a drysuit. Of the dives I did make last year, about 40 of them were freshwater dives and the other 10 off the Keys in the warm salt water.

I have learned to really enjoy diving in cold water, and just love wreck diving in Northern Lake Huron as the vis is excellent and the folks up there are even better.

The thing that puts a crimp in my diving is that I spend HALF of my life 'on-call' for the phone company where I work, and I can't dive on those weekends when I'm on call.

Have made eight dives so far this year, and expect to do about 50 this year too....

I got cert last year did 20 ocean and 10 lake so I got 30 so far.I"M hoping to at least double the number this year take some more classes and buy a computer. my biggest problem is finding a dive buddy. I'm hoping this board will help me out on that.

Check out the conch divers section - there are loads in SE FL and around your area!!

yeah, Alex, you'll have no trouble finding buddies near Miami. Check out our get-together this weekend. some of us are doing a boat dive (which i think is full) on Saturday, and then some shore-diving on Sunday. you're welcome to join us on Sunday, for sure, and maybe even Saturday if the boat is not full yet.

here's the thread if you want to check it out:

In the last 8 years it's been around 600 per year (4,750-something right now). Since it's my job, I tend to do a lot of the same dives repeatedly...one place, 1100+ dives, another 600 exactly, and another about 575. Hope at some point to take a diving "vacation" and get over to Palau, Chuuk (Truk), etc in the Micronesia region...up until now, I've used all my vacation time visiting my family back in the states. Think I'll head out right now to point #600....it's only 5 minutes away & I have a brand new dive computer to check out..

30 to 40 dives per year thats what business, work and nature in Rio de Janeiro allows me to do ;)

I feel bad about posting this one..4 a day max..usually 2 a day for the 2003/2004 season so far while being stationed here..took a few days off..LOL..I'm at 560 or so for the time period I have been here. But My life is SCUBA..I have nothing else to do..it's dive or become and alcoholic. My air is $2.00 or free...Did two today...still counting..My Stinger is in the NO FLY screen and so is My Sherwood Wisdom. I have probably had more batteries replaced than half the population of Scubaboard..The Dive computers are on 24 hours a day..since I have been here..they have shut down a half a dozen times..when I must stop diving to board Aircraft for Leave..One question..what is Freshwater?..

119 dives, 121 hours BT since last August. That's up from the typical 75 dives/year I've done in the past. None were within driving distance of either my California or Mass. homes, so my dive trips always start with an airplane ride ---2 trips to Florida, 1 to Cozumel, and 2 to Maui in the last 12 months.

My dives/year will probably be a bit higher in the future since I've retired and bought a condo in Maui a couple of months ago.

Headed out to Maui for 2 weeks of diving starting May 12th!!!!
