How is work coming on the SD-4000 IS / IXUS 300HM housing?

Hoping you guys can shed some insight...

On the Ikelite page it says the prototype is in development and mentions late July.

Will that be the date the prototype is ready, or when units are ready to ship?

I've got a trip late August and am looking at this camera for its feature set, but obviously no housing and it's a no go for me.

As the site says, we truly do not have a firm date available. The goal is to have the housing shipping before the end of July. Once details of a new housing are posted on the site it should typically start shipping within two to three weeks.

I wouldn't expect there to be any problem getting a housing before your late August trip.

Thanks again. Last question (hopefully).... what kind of a lens port is going to be on the front? Meaning, for mounts (67MM, etc.)?

I can't comment on lens port or specs until the prototype is done and approved. Once the prototype is approved to go to production specs will be on the website within a day or two.
