Store? My stuff never gets dry!

BCs and wetsuits go on hangers in a closet. Extra regs are either in reg bags or on hangers with BCs. Spare fins, etc go in tupperware boxes in the basement, and tanks go on the lanai. Everything else is in a duffle, ready to go.

I have the same rack as Becca has without the bags too. I have a screened in porch, so everything dries on it. When it is dry, I have a canvas cover for it. I live in a loft so it helps to keep everything tidy and I know where it all is. When it gets too humid, I bring in all the wetsuits that are dry and hang them in my closet. The rest of my items are stored in rubbermaid containers on the top and lower racks.

Cleaned the garage today, and took some shots.

Gotta keep my scuba corner small. We've got a pool/ping pong table, a huge screen for projecting movies on, 4 or 5 bikes, a couch, weight bench and punching bag in the garage.

The bottom shelf is for stuff I don't use much, the green bin is also full of stuff I don't use much. One of the milkcrates holds all my regs, reels, mask, computers, and stuff that I need to dive. The other milkcrate holds stuff I need to convert regs back to single tank configurations and other things for ocean diving, such as gloves and an SMB. Another shelf holds backplate and wings and fins. Tanks go in the corner on the far side of the shelf, and SM tanks sometimes go under the pool table if they don't fit in the corner. Any random stuff goes on the pool table. Fortunately, the roommates don't care too much about keeping the surface perfect, so we use the ping pong table on the pool table for storage sometimes. Top shelf is used for extra hose storage, and the letter R.

We are very fortunate to have a garage - I ran a 1" conduit suspended from the rafters to hang the BCD's, wet suits and multi hangars for boots, fins, regs etc.... Under that I have rubber tubs with lids to store wet suits not being used. On the other wall is a shelving unit for flashlights, gloves and masks. Tanks also along that wall. And of course there is the "catch-all" milk carton (like the kitchen drawer) No we cant get a car in our garage. Try to organize as best as possible so and label tubs and bins so you can find what you need, when you need it.

I like your set up!

Thanks, it's worked out nicely. The black box on the floor is a Stanley job box with wheels, extending handle and tool tray inside. It's good for hauling stuff at the quarry, and doubles as a bench for gearing up if needed. I wish I had a workbench but I can use the top of the washer/dryer for repairs and maintenance and so forth.

About like this ...

My buddy Scott's place gives me gear envy, though ...

I store my gear in the garage on two heavy-duty rolling garment racks, similar to one shown below. The racks that I use have two hanger bars, one on each side, so I can hang all of my wetsuits and BCDs. Additionally I strung rows of chain horizontally on the ends of the rack, where I can clip off my whistles, regulators, etc.

I bought plastic container tubs (with lids) and they sit on the mesh shelf at the bottom (like the carboard storage boxes shown in the photo below).

These racks are nice because you can easily push them around when you need to clean the garage, or make room for something else. All of your gear is out in the open so it can drip-dry.

And, when you buy more gear you can easily buy more racks. :D

Beware, there are a lot of cheap, flimsy racks that will not support the weight of scuba gear. Look for the strong, heavy-duty racks. "Caveat emptor."

I have a hobby closet in the basement where I store all my hobby gear and gadgets (for some reason all my hobbies involve lots of gear and most of it is either fragile and/or dangerous if mishandled). It has a lock and a hook way up high to keep the short people in my family out.

I keep the tanks in the back (I installed eye-hooks and a chain to keep them from falling over), hang BC and wetsuits on a bar and keep the remaining gear in a dive bag ready to go. I also have a toolbag (rigid bottom) that I keep weights and misc items that I would take to shore or dives where I'm driving to the sight.

I also have a rollaway garment hanger that I keep on the screened in porch in the back. Roll it out onto the deck and rinse everything, then move it onto the porch to dry.
